Stephen Jack

After working for many years running Jack Fine Art as a seller of art and an agent for other artists it was during the Lockdown in 2020 that I discovered a desire to make my own paintings.
My choice of subjects is varied, sometimes just around the corner in my village of Nunnington; sometimes travels further afield, but always drawn to the effects of light and atmosphere with the texture that can be achieved in oil paints.
Although self taught, my years in the art world provided a great learning experience, as it presented an opportunity over the years of observing and studying the palettes and techniques of many of my most admired artists.
I must acknowledge the encouragement and advice received from other artists. In 2025 I was honoured to be recognised by the Royal Society of British Artists who invited me to exhibit one of my Australian paintings at their annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
